Zambry Abdul Kadir says Wisma Putra is monitoring the Middle East situation, especially on the whereabouts of any Malaysians in the conflict zone.

Foreign minister Zambry Abdul Kadir said the government is trying to evacuate a Malaysian doctor and a family of four from the West Bank conflict zone.

He said the foreign ministry, through the Malaysian embassy in Jordan, has been in contact with a Malaysian doctor in the conflict zone, as well as a mother and her three children. He was responding to Tan Hong Pin , who asked about the measures taken by the government to help victims after Israel imposed a siege on the Gaza Strip and restricted supplies such as water, food and electricity.

“There have been no other reports involving Malaysians, save from several days ago. However, the group of Malaysians involved then in Jerusalem have been evacuated,” he said.
