PETALING JAYA: Pemberian Khas Kepada Pesara (PKKP) perlu diteruskan dalam menarik penyertaan bukan bumiputera memilih Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (ATM) sebagai kerjaya.
Presiden Persatuan Veteran Angkatan Tentera Malaysia, Datuk Sharuddin Omar berkata, langkah itu antara strategi yang boleh ditawarkan selain memberi peluang kepada anggota dan pegawai menyambung pengajian ke peringkat lebih tinggi.
“Apabila Datuk Seri Mohamad Hassan menjadi Menteri Pertahanan terus menyeru bukan Melayu menyertai ATM tetapi perkara sama berlaku iaitu tiada maklum balas,” katanya ketika dihubungi Utusan Malaysia di sini semalam. Beliau menyasarkan seramai 10 peratus penyertaan daripada bukan bumiputera apabila kerajaan mengambil langkah menambah baik perkhidmatan dan emolumen dalam sektor tersebut.
