: Bank Negara Malaysia’s international reserves amounted to US$110.1 billion as of Sept 29, 2023 compared with US$112.46 at the end of August 2023.
The central bank said in a statement today that the reserves position was sufficient to finance 5.1 months of imports of goods and services and was one time the total short-term external debt. The main components of the international reserves were foreign currency reserves , International Monetary Fund reserves position , special drawing rights , gold and other reserve assets .
Total assets stood at RM620.97 billion, comprising gold and foreign exchange and other reserves, including SDRs , Malaysian government papers , loans and advances , land and buildings and other assets . BNM said capital and liabilities comprised paid-up capital , reserves , currency in circulation , deposits by financial institutions , federal government deposits , other deposits , Bank Negara papers , allocation of SDRs and other liabilities . -State of emergency declared in Central Kalimantan due to severe air pollution and forest fires
