Kota Kinabalu: Every volunteer of the Malaysian Red Crescent (BSMM) in Sabah is the backbone of service development to the community.

Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Community Development and Sabah People’s Wellbeing, Maria David Edick, said volunteering is the heart of efforts to develop a spirit of caring for the surrounding community.“BSMM is no longer a foreign name in Sabah, adhering to the principle ‘where there is misery, there we are’”. “The commitment of the association members is strong even though life as a volunteer is often seen as an ‘unsung hero’”.
