JOHOR BARU: The mood at the Pakatan Harapan camp in Taman Dahlia here was upbeat as its candidate for the Pulai parliamentary seat enjoys a handsome lead in the by-election.
Leaders, such as Amanah president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, Tebrau MP Jimmy Puah Wee Tse and Johor Amanah chairman Aminolhuda Hassan, had arrived at the scene and were seen shaking hands with supporters.
They were also enjoying some lontong while they observed the by-election results for the Pulai and Simpang Jeram seats on a big screen.As at 8.15pm, he has garnered 36,703 votes. Perikatan Nasional’s Zulkifli Jaafar has 24,035 votes while Independent Samsudin Mohamad Fauzi obtained 408 votes. Voter turnout for the parliamentary constituency which has about 165,000 voters was 46.8% as at closing time at 6pm.
