While the former EXO member awaits the court’s decision for his appeal, a new rumour has emerged from Chinese social media. According to the information from two open databases on Chinese companies, Qichacha and Tian Yan Cha , three companies related to the singer were ordered to pay a hefty fine of over RMB18.9 million for service contract disputes.The three companies are Inner Mongolia Fanshi Film and Television Media Co. , Inner Mongolia Chaoting Culture Media Co.

In 2021, the agency representing Kris, Vantage Co., requested an order of termination for the service contracts the agency had signed with Inner Mongolia Fanshi Film and Television Media and Inner Mongolia Chaoting Culture Media. The agency also ordered the companies and Beijing Fanshi Culture Media to refund service fees of RMB 17.5 million plus interest.

Since his detention, Kris’ life in prison has been exposed multiple times by the media and former jail mates. A Chinese YouTuber has also published a video revealing the former celeb’s behaviour while in prison, often treating the place like his home. A former inmate also shared with the media that he and several other inmates have caught Kris secretly crying in the night, perhaps because he could not bear the living conditions in prison.
