Confindustria slashes 2024 growth forecast to 0.5%

Confindustria's research centre said Saturday that it has slashed its forecast for Italian growth in 2024 to 0.5%, down from the 1.2% it estimated in March. It said it sees Italy's GDP rising 0.7% this year. © ANSA

- ROME, OCT 28 - Confindustria's research centre said Saturday that it has slashed its forecast for Italian growth in 2024 to 0.5%, down from the 1.2% it estimated in March. "The Italian economy is once again sliding towards the modest growth rates that had characterised it in previous decades" it said.

The industry association said it forecasts a big drop in investment levels, but sees household consumer spending holding up. .
