SEPANG: The police are a step closer to identifying the skeletal remains found along Jalan Kebun in Klang after some similarities were found with a person that had previously been reported missing.
Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said there was a possibility that the remains that were found on Aug 27 were of a man reported missing in June.
“We believe that both cases are linked, but a DNA test is needed to determine if the body is that of the missing person,” he told reporters after a ceremony to dispose of past case items at the Sepang police headquarters yesterday. In an unrelated matter, Comm Hussein said the police have started disciplinary action against a police sergeant accused of khalwat .
“Any officer or rank and file policemen found to have conducted activities that could besmirch the image of the police will have action taken as per the rules of conduct for public servants,” he said, adding that this could include a transfer to another department, a demotion or termination.
