THE Bureau of Customs has installed state-of-the-art scanning machines at key international airports that can check out baggage containing large electronics and liquids, including bombs with minimal human intervention, thus expediting the screening process and enhancing public safety.
In a statement, the BOC said that the Rapiscan 920CT X-ray machine employs “cutting-edge technology to identify explosives and other hazardous materials,” adding that “one of its notable features is the ability to scan baggage containing illicit items such as electronic and liquid explosives.” On the other hand, the Tek84 Intercept body scanner offers comprehensive detection capabilities, identifying metallic and non-metallic threats, including weapons, drugs, and hidden contraband.
