Kota Kinabalu: Transhipment of rice to the Philippines from Sabah particularly from Sandakan and Tawau has significant declined.

Many local logistic company operstors in both distritcs providing such services currently are affected by reduced or non-arrival of stocks from rice producing countries like Vietnam, Thailand and India.Such significant decline of rice transhipment activities will surely affect the economy of Sabah apart from cash flow of the affected local communities and not to mention busibessmen, traders, exporters and consumers from Malaysia and the Philippines.
