Taiwanese economics minister Wang Mei-hua has denied that four Taiwanese companies are supplying key technologies to Huawei.
Wang’s comments came after a Bloomberg report alleged that the four companies, Topco Scientific, L&K Engineering, United Integrated Services, Cica-Huntek Chemical Technology, were helping Huawei build “infrastructure for an under-the-radar network of chip plants.”
Topco Scientific, L&K Engineering, and United Integrated Services have also denied the allegations, saying that they were only involved in construction work on a facility in Shenzhen. The Ministry of Economic Affairs said that it would investigate whether any rules had been broken in the cooperation between the three companies and Huawei.
