Evans says he considered retirement before Man Utd return

This, the Northern Ireland defender says, was due to a succession of injuries he was facing.

Manchester United’s Jonny Evans was offered a short-term deal by the club and has made four appearances.

Evans struggled with calf injuries at Leicester City and was released by the club at the end of last season after their Premier League relegation. “I think I went through a stage last year where you start thinking, ‘maybe this is it coming to an end,'” Evans told reporters ahead of Northern Ireland’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Slovenia later on Tuesday.
