JASIN: A 42-year-old woman is among four individuals detained for stealing copper cables belonging to Telekom Malaysia (TM).
Jasin OCPD Deputy Supt Ahmad Jamil Radzi said the four were detained by his men who were on crime prevention patrol in Merlimau here at 5.30am on Thursday .
He said a patrol car stumbled upon a luxury car driven by two suspects at Serkam here and tried to intercept the vehicle."The driver then lost control of the car before ramming into the wall of a building managed by the Community Development Department here," he said on Friday . DSP Ahmad Jamil said the suspects were detained on the spot and they admitted they had driven all the way from Kajang in Selangor to steal the cables.
He said interrogation of the two had led to the arrest of another two suspects in Kajang on the same day.DSP Jamil said the suspects had attempted to steal copper cables worth RM30,000 from Serkam."All the suspects have been remanded for four days to assist in the investigation under Section 379/511 of the Penal Code," he said.
