Dzuleira Abu Bakar officially assumed the role of CEO at SKS Airways on September 15, 2023.
Replaces acting CEO Rohman Ahmad, who remains as executive directorDzuleira Abu Bakar officially assumed the role of CEO at SKS Airways on Sept 15, following the announcement made on June 26. She takes over from the current acting CEO & executive director, Rohman Ahmad, who will continue to serve on the Board of SKS Airways as an executive director.
Prior to joining SKS Airways, Dzuleira served as the CEO of the Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology & Innovation . With over 20 years of experience, she is a leader known for her expertise in business transformation, venture capital, entrepreneurship, investments, and the technology sector.
In a statement released by the airline, Dzuleira expressed her excitement about the dynamic aviation industry, citing the unprecedented demand and growth in the global aviation scene as she looks to lead SKS Airways to its full potential as a regional airline. SKS Airways has announced its next phase of expansion in the ASEAN region by introducing a new jet fleet. In May 2023, the company entered into a strategic partnership with Brazil's Embraer Commercial Aviation and Azorra Aviation Holdings for the leasing of 10 Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. These new aircraft will play a crucial role in expanding SKS Airways' regional and international routes.
The company is confident that this strategic partnership will position it as a leading regional airline, enhancing its presence and capabilities to better serve passengers within the ASEAN region and beyond. The first delivery of the Embraer aircraft is scheduled for January 2024, making SKS Airways the first operator of E195-E2s in Southeast Asia. Operating from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Selangor, it aims to enhance regional connectivity.
