STOP using issues related to race, religion and royalty (3R) as a reason for selective persecution and preventing people from exercising “silent dissent” against the government, said Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
During the debate on the 12th Malaysia Plan mid-term review , Muhyiddin said in order to build a civilised nation, it is important for government leaders to be able to fulfil their promises, care for the people’s well-being and handle economic matters properly.
“Based on this principle, I urge the government to stop investigating and prosecuting based on 3R to prevent dissenting views from the people,” he said in the Dewan Rakyat. “A Malay leader like me is considered a criminal just because I spoke up for the interest of Malays and Islam,” he added. “I pray that our country will always remain peaceful, and its multiracial and multireligious people can live together peacefully and harmoniously,” he added.
