KUANTAN: Schools are asked to comply with the set guidelines following the haze affecting some areas in the country, says Fadhlina SidekThe Education Minister said one of the stipulations in the guideline is schools cannot conduct outdoor activities if the air pollution index reading exceeds 100.
The number of areas recording unhealthy API readings this morning increased to 16, covering nine states, with Cheras in the national capital recording the highest reading at 164. Meanwhile, when asked about the teacher shortage issue, she said the ministry is constantly working with the Education Service Commission to address the problem.
The media previously reported that the National Union of Teaching Profession claimed that schools across the country were experiencing a shortage of over 20,000 teachers, which needed to be solved immediately.
