KUALA LUMPUR: A total of seven regions in Peninsular Malaysia recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as at 11am Tuesday (Oct 3), with Nilai in Negri Sembilan remaining the worst affected with an API reading of 157.
According to the Environment Department's Air Pollutant Index Management System website, Cheras in Kuala Lumpur registered an API reading of 155.Other places with an API exceeding 100 are Seremban and Port Dickson in Negri Sembilan.
Meanwhile, two areas in the country recorded good API levels of below 50 - Kangar in Perlis with 40 and Kimanis, Sabah, at 50.The remaining 59 areas in Malaysia with API monitoring stations are in the moderate range with readings from 51 to 100.
