KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 11 -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim when presenting the Half Term Review of the 12th Malaysia Plan themed ‘Civilized Malaysia: Sustainable, Prosperous, High Income’ at the Dewan Rakyat Special Meeting today. BERNAMAPIX: The following are among the highlights of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s speech when tabling the motion on the 12th Malaysia Plan 2021-2025 Mid-Term Review in the Dewan Rakyat today.
*The increase is aimed at meeting the need to finance priority fields of the rakyat, enhancing the standard of management and retargeting subsidies to meet the people’s basic needs. *Malaysia will organise the 15th International Conference on Islamic Economy and Finance in Kuala Lumpur in December to deliberate on problems in Malaysia’s bid to pioneer the enhancement of comprehensive Islamic financial system practices.
*The government has approved an allocation of RM1.1 billion for the 2023 to 2025 period in efforts to strengthen security and reap the benefits of cross-border economic development. *A sum of RM1.5 billion has been approved for activating programmes and projects which can generate income for target groups to eradicate hardcore poverty this year.
*The Companies Act 2016 and Limited Liability Partnerships Act 2012 related to the declaration of beneficial owners are being reviewed with the aim of strengthening transparency on share ownership. *An allocation of RM40 million will be provided to registered community sports associations for organising sports events to instil unity and build an active and healthy community.
*The government, through the Academy in Industry initiative, will allocate a special fund amounting to RM209 million to help youths venture into the manufacturing sector. *The government will enact climate change laws to regulate the implementation of initiatives to fulfil the nation’s climate change responsibilities.
