ISKANDAR PUTERI: Muda deputy president Amira Aisya Abd Aziz has reminded her former allies in Pakatan Harapan about the importance of keeping the promises they made to the people.
She added that the mandate given to Pakatan, including Muda, during the Johor state election and the 15th General Election last year was based upon the reform agenda and struggle against corruption.
“Many people are saying that Muda is going against the promise we made during the election as we are no longer with Pakatan now."The promise we made is not about loyalty to a coalition but our struggle against corruption, and we will never turn our back on it,” the Puteri Wangsa representative told the media after the Johor state assembly meeting here on Thursday .
“Some quarters are saying Muda should vacate its seats for going back on its promise... who should be vacating their seats?" she asked. She also said Muda did not mind being in the Opposition bloc as the country needs better checks and balances to the government instead of just focusing on narrow politics.
