IPOH: The Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB) here is in urgent need of fundings for more beds, says Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.
The Perak Mentri Besar said the lack of beds have caused inconveniences to patients seeking treatment there."This issue has caused longer waiting times for admission," he said in his speech during the Perak Budget 2024 Roadshow at the state secretariat building here on Monday ."With increasing semi-critical and emergency cases at the hospital, it has also caused congestion at the hospital's emergency and trauma unit.
"A lot of people are taking videos and pictures of the issue and making it viral on social media. I hope the Finance Ministry can approve the allocation for this," he added. Saarani said the need for beds and upgrading of HRPB were among nine priority and high impact projects with short and medium term implementation period that have been identified by the state and submitted to the Federal Government."The health sector is one of the main focuses of the state government.
