ABB Malaysia's 50kW DC charger in Bandar Sunway has been serving thousands of EV and PHEV for the past six years for free. However, it appears that the charger's days are numbered.

According to several industry sources, ABB Malaysia will be moving out from its current headquarters in Bandar Sunway by the end of this year. While these sources didn’t pinpoint the exact location of the company’s new office, the indication that we received so far is that it will be somewhere within Kelana Jaya.
So, what will happen to the free DC charging facility in Bandar Sunway? Well, since ABB is moving the whole operation to the new location, this likely means the DC fast charger will be decommissioned as well.and it has always been made available to the public for free. The charger is able to support almost all EVs in our market as it has been equipped with CCS2, CHAdeMO, and Type 2 connectors.
As for whether ABB will provide free EV charging at its new Malaysian headquarters, it remains to be seen according to our sources. We have since reached out to ABB Malaysia earlier this week to obtain more clarification and still waiting for their response. Nevertheless, if what we heard so far is true, then thank you ABB Malaysia for letting EV drivers and owners use your charger for free for the past six years.
