India mengekang perhimpunan awam dan menutup beberapa sekolah di Kerala selepas dua orang dilaporkan maut akibat jangkitan virus Nipah.
Menurut pegawai kesihatan, tiga lagi disahkan positif dan sekitar 789 orang termasuk 153 kakitangan kesihatan yang bersentuhan dengan individu dijangkiti sedang dalam pemerhatian.
Beliau berkata, makmal mudah alih akan ditubuhkan untuk mempercepatkan ujian makmal sampel yang dikutip daripada pesakit yang disyaki. Menurut WHO, pada mulanya virus itu ditularkan daripada haiwan seperti kelawar buah atau babi namun kini boleh disebarkan dalam kalangan manusia.
