Menteri kesihatan berkata kejadian bayi dirampas kerana status ibunya yang tiada kerakyatan tidak sepatutnya berlaku.
Menteri Kesihatan Dr Zaliha Mustafa berkata pihaknya akan meneliti laporan polis dibuat, termasuk bersemuka dengan petugas hospital untuk mendapatkan maklumat lanjut.
“Saya setuju, perkara seperti ini tak sepatutnya berlaku di hospital kerajaan, bagi saya ‘no wrong door policy’ ini perlu kita perlu laksanakan baik-baik,” katanya di Dewan Rakyat. Pengarah Kesihatan Sabah Dr Asits Sanna berkata pihaknya telah menjalankan siasatan segera susulan laporan portal tersebut.
Sementara itu, Zaliha memaklumkan dalam memenuhi Perjanjian Malaysia 1963, sebanyak 10 projek pembinaan fasiliti kesihatan dan sembilan projek naik taraf kemudahan sedang dilaksanakan di Sabah dan Sarawak.
