KLUANG: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has detained a school principal and a chief administrative assistant for alleged bribery amounting to more than RM17,000.
According to a source, a man and woman aged 53 and 50 respectively were detained at the Kluang MACC office at around 7pm on Monday after their statements were recorded.
It is learnt that the suspects allegedly solicited and accepted a bribe as an inducement to grant a contract for fence maintenance work at the school dormitory in January this year. When contacted, Johor MACC director Datuk Azmi Alias confirmed the arrests and said the case was being investigated under Section 17 of the MACC Act 2009.to our Premium Plan for an ad-free and unlimited reading experience!
