PETALING JAYA: Roti canai from Malaysia has earned global recognition as the world's best bread, according to TasteAtlas - an international food guide website.
Touted as Malaysia's top breakfast choice, it ranked first among the"Top 50 Best Breads in the World" from around the world on the website's listing.
The Jalur Gemilang is presented next to the listing although roti canai is stated on TasteAtlas as also being available in Brunei, Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore."The dough is folded several times to create layers, resulting in a soft, fluffy texture on the inside and a crispy outer layer," described the website.
