PUTRAJAYA: The Prime Minister’s upcoming trip to China, his second since taking office, is expected to create another round of investments for Malaysia, says the Economy Minister.

Rafizi Ramli said the visit also reflected China’s position as one of the country’s top trading partners and the cordial relationship between Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the Chinese leadership.

Anwar will be in Nanning on Sunday to attend the China-Asean Expo and the China-Asean Business and Investment Summit. His first visit in March saw Malaysia securing a record RM170bil worth of investment commitments from China. The amount, the biggest so far from China, was from a total of 19 MOUs sealed between businesses in China and Malaysia in various fields, especially green technology and digital economy.
