The former prime minister’s lead counsel, Hisyam Teh Poh Teik, says an application will be made as soon as possible.

Muhyiddin Yassin faces three money laundering charges amounting to about RM200 million linked to the Jana Wibawa programme implemented by his previous administration.

“The application to set aside will be made under section 173 of the Criminal Procedure Code,” he said. Deputy public prosecutor Wan Shahruddin Wan Ladin informed Azura the High Court had allowed Muhyiddin’s application to strike out four charges which alleged that he had abused his position to obtain bribes totalling RM232.5 million for Bersatu.

Azura fixed the joint trial application for mention on Nov 29 pending an update of the proceedings in the Court of Appeal.
