IPOH: A 41-year-old woman with a 'Datuk' title has been charged with stealing two luxury watches from a house in Pinggiran Rapat Ria here.

GEORGE TOWN: While there are policemen involved in crime syndicates and abuse of power cases, it is a small number, says Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain.“I used to be the narcotics director and it is true that there were officers who were involved in syndicates and we had to take special preventive measures,” he told reporters during a press conference after officiating at the 76th Marine Police Day celebration at the marine police base in Batu Uban, Penang on Thursday .

He was commenting on Bukit Aman CID director Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain's stern warning to his officers on being corrupt.“If we look at this year, as of August, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission only arrested 90 officers. "Even internally, the number of investigation papers or disciplinary reports filed totalled only 881 cases out of the whole police force of over 30,000.He said they will resolve the issues of corrupt officers internally."We will not compromise on it in any way,” he said.

Razarudin said with the job of being a police officer comes power and there are cases of abuse of power.“There is no single position in the police force that is not sensitive."We will repair it and fix our image to gain the trust of the people, that is most important," he said. Razarudin said this is why he will not compromise if any policeman is involved in abuse of power or corruption, including other disciplinary issues.MBPJ gets leave to appeal decision on boom gates in favour of RAIPCC to get its members soon, says Home Minister
