OnePlus’ first-ever foldable, the OnePlus Open made its debut yesterday with some impressive specs, including dual screens with a whopping 2800 nits peak brightness. Well, it looks like the company ain’t resting on its laurels as today, OnePlus, together with sister company OPPO and BOE are releasing a new 3000 nits smartphone display.
Taking to its official Weibo account, OnePlus announced that the 3 companies will hold an event on 25 October in China to unveil the new panel. Of course, since BOE is the only display manufacturer out of the 3, the ultra-bright panels are made by the company. While no further details were revealed in the Weibo post other than the event would be a “historic moment”, the panel’s specs were previously leaked by Digital Chat Station. The tipster claimed that the display will have 3000 nits peak brightness and a 1440p resolution.
Furthermore, he also said that a 1220p panel by the collaboration will even surpass the 3000 nits threshold. Crazy! The new panel is expected to be included in OPPO and OnePlus’ upcoming flagships, including the OnePlus 12.
