PETALING JAYA: PKR Youth is urging the government to hold a special parliamentary session after deputy prime minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi was granted a conditional discharge from his graft charges on Monday. The government party’s youth wing wants the discharge not amounting to an acquittal that was granted to the Umno president to be discussed in the Dewan Rakyat due to concerns about the Attorney-General’s Chambers’s credibility.
“We cannot deny that this incident has weakened the image of the unity government as a driver of change and reform, and has reduced the public’s confidence in Malaysia Madani,” said the wing’s vice-chief Tyra Hanim Razali in a statement.
