Selangor menteri besar Amirudin Shari says the planned RM4.5 billion green energy plant does not use old technology.
Selangor menteri besar Amirudin Shari said dialogues would continue to be held to address concerns over the RM4.5 billion waste-to-energy Sultan Idris Shah green energy plant.
“Technology has changed. This isn’t like the incinerators from the 1990s. It’s different,” he told reporters after an event here. Residents of several communities in Rawang had banded together to protest the planned green energy plant, citing concerns about its effects on the environment. The residents said combustion of solid waste would lead to fly ash, bottom ash, heat energy and toxic gases being produced by the incinerator.
