: The process on the appointment of Sabah and Sarawak representatives in the the Inland Revenue Board board of directors is expected to be tabled in the next Parliament sitting scheduled from Oct 9 to Nov 30.said this would involved the tabling of the amendment bill, which ismis important to strengthen the appointment process through legislation.
“We know the importance of having representatives Sabah and Sarawak so that Sabah and Sarawak have access to information related to revenue collection to make other demands, for example, related to special grants,“ he added. Armizan, who is Papar Member of Parliament, said the move was a commitment by the Federal Government that reflects the political will to interpret the Malaysia Agreement 1963 , particularly in resolving the pending issues in the agreement.

Budget 2024: Revise windfall levy for Sabah, Sarawak oil palm growers, suggests groupKuala Lumpur: The Malaysian Palm Oil Association (MPOA) had called on the government to revert the rate of the windfall profit levy (WPL) for Sabah and Sarawak to 1.5 per cent in the upcoming Budget 2024 from the current three per cent, Given the further increase in the cost of production, the association also beseeched the government to revise the WPL price threshold upwards by RM500 per tonne of crude palm oil (CPO) to RM3,500 per tonne for Peninsular Malaysia growers and to RM4,000 per tonne for Sabah and Sarawak growers.
