ACO Tech today announced that its ATLAS infotainment head unit (IHU) for Proton cars will integrate Sarawak's Pay & Go
parking payment solution starting today. According to the former’s press statement, its partnership with the latter was formalised via a Product Integration Agreement and aims to enhance user convenience and elevate driving experience.
With Pay & Go’s integration, owners of ATLAS supported Proton vehicles in Sarawak will be able to make parking payments directly in-car with just a tap on the display, saving them the trouble of using physical parking tickets or reaching for a mobile phone. ACO Tech says the system’s app will first roll out to the Proton X70 model and will eventually be made available to other vehicles from the local automaker via over-the-air software updates, starting with the X-series.
Interestingly, the same press statement also revealed that Pay & Go’s parking payment solution will be expanded to more areas, including in the Klang Valley. However, it’s not known when the operator is expected to commence this wider rollout. For now, Pay & Go is available in 28 locations primarily in Sarawak’s capital city Kuching.
