The 43-year-old and his horse, Rosenstolz, have been crowned Asian champions after accumulating 75.780 points.

PETALING JAYA: Qabil Ambak Mahamad Fathil won Malaysia’s second gold medal at the Hangzhou Asian Games after clinching the individual dressage title today.

Qabil, who made his Asian Games debut at the 1998 edition, beat reigning champion Jacqueline Siu from Hong Kong for today’s win. Qabil won silver in the event at the last Asian Games in Jakarta-Palembang five years ago with 17-year-old Rosenstolz. Qabil was based in Denmark before travelling to China to train ahead of this year’s Games with another horse, a 10-year-old named Napoli.
