A MESSAGE went viral on social media recently; it claimed that recipients of RM200 Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (Sara) government cash aid have to head to a website and enter their phone numbers in a form on the site.

In a statement posted on its official Facebook page, the Finance Ministry said that this is actually false.

“Be careful and do not be easily fooled by news or links that are untrue. The Finance Ministry does not need details like your telephone number for this purpose,” it said. It added that the public could check the requirements at https://www.mof.gov.my/portal/ms/berita/siaran-media/penerima-sumbangan-tunai-rahmah-str-berstatus-miskin-tegar-bakal-terima-sumbangan-asas-rahmah-sara-mulai-17-julai-2023

“Frequently-asked questions and checks of one's Sara eligibility can be done at the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah official portal at https://bantuantunai.hasil.gov.my while further information on the Sara mechanism can be found at https://www.mykasih.com.my,” said the ministry. “Head to the correct websites and follow the social media channels of the Finance Ministry for the latest valid information,” it added.Disclaimer: by clicking the Submit button, it is deemed that you consent to the rules and terms set forth in the
