LABUAN: An activist here has questioned the rationale for Labuan Corporation to spend funds to re-design the food court along Jalan Merdeka which has been viewed as a failure.
Lau Seng Kiat was referring to the allocation of RM 1.2 million for upgrading works at “Anjung Selera Terminal” food court which is sandwiched between the ro-ro and passenger ferry terminals.The food court built in 2007 at a reported cost of RM500,000 was formerly the site of a petrol station. The purpose of the new food court was to enable those jobless to venture into F&B business. Accordingly, the food court was named “Siswazah” corner.
