KOTA KINABALU: Sabah has upped the allocation of scholarships for students pursuing tertiary studies in various fields to RM101mil this year, says Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
“The State Government Excellence Scholarship award will benefit 4,638 SPM and STPM and those in higher education institutions," he said after presenting scholarship awards to 10 outstanding STPM students at Menara Kinabalu here on Friday .
“Education is one of the thrusts in the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya development plan, which is human capital development.Hajiji presented the scholarship offer letters to Arnie Jaliusih, Julizza Jummain, Kelly Ng, Mahazir Mahmod, Nur Hafizah Mansor, Nur Syafienaz Herman, Nurul Azwa Azura, Dayangku Siti Aisyah Pg Ali Mudin, Legendra Harroy and Shazliana Sahid.
Accompanying the Chief Minister was state Public Service Department director-general Datuk Zainuddin Aman and the Scholarship Awards Committee.
