Sarawak to set up panel to increase number of parliamentary seats

Sarawak premier Abang Johari Openg said he would take into account the views of the PBB leadership in the Betong Division to create three new parliamentary constituencies there.

Sarawak premier Abang Johari Openg said this proposal was in line with the Malaysia Agreement 1963 and would be forwarded to the Election Commission. “We will take into account the views in Betong to create three new parliamentary constituencies,” he told a press conference after the PBB Special Convention for Betong Zone here today.
