JOHOR BARU: Two brothers and their sister were among nine people arrested during a raid that saw drugs worth RM230,000 and firearms seized, says Johor police chief Comm Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat.
He said that state police and personnel from Bukit Aman conducted four raids between 2am and 9.30am on Tuesday in Johor Baru, Seri Alam and Kota Tinggi.
He added that two of the suspects tested positive for drugs, while further checks found six of them had prior records involving drugs and crime. “Police also seized 111 cartons of illicit cigarettes besides their belongings, such as a motorcycle, four cars, six pieces of jewellery and cash worth RM126,000,” he said, adding that all suspects were remanded for six days.
“Based on initial investigations, suppliers have been selling subsidised cooking oil in bulk to foreigners, who will then sell it to consumers above market price.
