MUAR: Pakatan Harapan candidate for the Simpang Jeram state seat, Nazri Abdul Rahman, hopes to see more young voters coming out to vote.

Nazri said that he was glad to see many young voters casting their votes in the four polling stations he has visited so far."I believe more will come out later in the day, especially those who have work commitments.

"I urge those who have yet to vote to do so as soon as they can," he told reporters at SJKC Pei Chai here on Saturday . Earlier, Nazri cast his vote at the polling station here with his wife, 43-year-old Siti Seri Azura Ahmad. Two other candidates for the Simpang Jeram seat, Perikatan Nasional's Dr Mohd Mazri Yahya and Independent candidate S. Jeganathan, were also seen visiting the polling station here.

According to the Election Commission, voter turnout for the Simpang Jeram by-election stands at 26% as of 11am.
