KOTA TINGGI: A 27-year-old man failed to steal some necklaces from a jewellery store here and was apprehended on the street by passers-by.
TAIPING: Police have arrested a suspect who allegedly damaged a statue at the Sri Mangala Nayagi Amman Temple in Matang near here.
Taiping OCPD Asst Comm Razlam Ab Hamid said the 23-year-old suspect was arrested at about 9am on Wednesday . "We also seized two items including a hammer that was believed to have been used to damage the statue. "We are trying to determine his motive and the matter is being investigated under Section 295 of the Penal Code.
"A remand order for the man will also be obtained to allow us to complete our investigations," he said.
