: The Netherlands has agreed to support Malaysia at the second meeting regarding the European Union’s Deforestation-free Products Regulation this December, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
“This includes how they can recognise the Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil Certification Scheme that we had developed and made mandatory for our entire palm oil production sector. “Our commitment to the world is that our forest must not be less than 50 per cent, so we have to balance the need for production without sacrificing our natural environment. This is our commitment for future generations, “ he said.
