Groenlandia and Disney announced in a statement on Tuesday that a controversial television show on the 2010 murder of 15-year-old Sarah Scazzi will air on October 30 in Italy on the platform Disney+ with a revised title excluding the name of the town where the homicide took place, Avetrana, prompting the local mayor to also ask that the name be removed from all publicity about the series.
"We believe we have so far preserved the image of the community we represent, provided that we will continue to act, where necessary, to safeguard the rights" of residents, ensuring the "name of Avetrana is removed from any form of publicity" because "Avetrana cannot and must not be identified with the terrible" murder, said Mayor Antonio Iazzi.
The court also upheld an eight-year term for Serrano's husband Michele Misseri for hiding the body of the teen, who was killed August 26, 2010 in the southern town.
