JOHOR BARU: Two men involved in a brawl that went viral during the Desaru International Bike Week on Saturday (Sept 23) have been arrested by the police.
Johor police chief Comm Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat said that the suspects, who are 30 and 50 years old, were arrested on Sunday morning in Kota Tinggi and Johor Baru.
"The fight happened due to a misunderstanding between two groups of bikers, one from the United States and one from a local group. "There were two incidents. When the fight broke out the first time, the police were able to stop it and managed to avoid it from escalating further. "However, the suspects later triggered another fight at about 9pm on the same day, where several injuries were reported. The police were later able to break up the fight," he said, adding that 350 policemen were manning the three-day event."Three people, including one of the suspects, suffered some light injuries due to the fight.
"We are still on the lookout for other suspects who are involved in the fight," he said, adding that the police are still investigating the total number of people involved.Earlier, several videos of a fight during the event in Desaru beach in Kota Tinggi, went viral on social media.to our Premium Plan for an ad-free and unlimited reading experience!
