USIM in a statement yesterday said Mohammed JH Alzaanin, a Doctor of Philosophy candidate and his wife, Kholoud MH Elzaneen, a Master of Science student from USIM Faculty of Science and Technology were killed in a bomb attack in their village in Bait Hanon at about 8am. “This was confirmed by the Palestinian Students Association Malaysia president, Ammar HM Mahariq. Also killed were their four children while one child was reported to have survived,” read the statement.
USIM added that according to Malaysia-Palestine Cultural Organisation chairman Badereddin Seyam, also killed in the attack were 20 of the victims’ family members. “Mohamad had just completed his viva-voce session on July 5 while his wife was scheduled to sit for the session on October 23,” USIM said. — Bernama
