Everyone likes a good joke. However, taking a joke too far can leave us frustrated too. That was Hong Kong singer Andy Lau (刘德华)'s case when a Malaysian show
Andy Lau and former Malaysian beauty queen Carol Chu have been married for over 15 years, and the union has earned Andy Lau the title of the 'Malaysian son-in-law'. While he usually doesn't mind the endearing title, this show host apparently made him uncomfortable about it when she went too far in teasing him about it.Malaysians have loved Andy Lau very much, even more so after he tied the knot with Carol.
Andy looked somewhat unhappy, despite the smile he kept fixated to his face. 'Are you going to ask these things again?' The somewhat cold response did not deter the hostess, in fact she persisted further, asking: 'So, how, Malaysian son-in-law?' But, Andy managed to keep his composure and delivered a smooth response explaining he had been invited here by the company to present the awards.
'I have a close relationship with because have been with me for five years when I was at TVB in Hong Kong. So I am standing here today to present the awards to them. I feel deeply honoured,' he said, adding: 'Besides, I can also 'go home to my parents' house' to visit.' The audience received his good-natured response with cheers, and cheered louder when he confirmed he 'visits relatives' here in Malaysia.
Andy shared that he tried doing so for three days, however, he felt it was not a good lifestyle. 'If the children see like this, think, when will I be like my father? This will set a bad example,' he stated. Andy added he no longer worked to make a breakthrough in the industry, but simply hoped to add value to his life.Well, the years may have flown past, yet Andy Lau continues to endear himself to the hearts of people.
