Cross-border money transfer firm Wise has officially announced recently that its prepaid card is now supported on both Apple Pay
contactless payment services, therefore also making it the first non-bank in Malaysia to offer this approach. This will conveniently allow you to complete your transactions with just your smartphone instead of needing to flash your Wise card while abroad.
For those who are unfamiliar, the firm initially introduced its prepaid debit card locally back in 2021. It offers users the ability to conduct contactless payments in countries outside of Malaysia without having to convert any physical cash into foreign currencies, though you’ll need to top-up your account with enough balance first before doing so.
To add them to the aforementioned on-device payment services, first open up either app and then tap on the Card tab at the bottom of the screen. From there, you’ll see all of the active cards that you own, and by simply tapping the “Add to” button after selecting the Wise card will include it to Apple Pay or Google Pay. And for those wondering, the Wise’s cross-border money transfer service does not support Samsung Pay just yet.
