It sure took a while, but Microsoft has finally announced that its Xbox Wireless Controller is now officially available in Malaysia. As previously revealed by
the company, this move is part of its gaming brand's first time expansion to countries including our own, Indonesia and The Philippines, with an expanded range for Thailand and Vietnam. While not exactly new, local stores have actually been selling imported versions of the device in Malaysia prior to this.
The controller in question is the latest version that's released together with Microsoft's current-generation Xbox Series X and Series S video game consoles. Given that it is actually three years old by now, we don't think a reintroduction is required, though it is worth reminding that the Xbox Wireless Controller does require two AA batteries in order to be used.
Meanwhile, the sixth option is actually a bundle which includes the Carbon Black variant and a USB-C cable. Just to be clear, this version of the controller is the same as the standalone releases and can still be used wirelessly through Bluetooth.Pricing-wise, Microsoft lists the two basic colour variants at RM319 each, while the Shock Blue, Pulse Red and Electric Volt versions are retailing at RM339 each.
Now that the controller is finally official in Malaysia, but what about the Xbox Series X/S? Unfortunately, dear readers, that's still up to Microsoft to decide.
