JOHOR BAHRU: The Zero Waste Community Programme implemented in 17 People’s Housing Projects nationwide has been well-received, with an increasing rate of materials sent to recycling centres, says Deputy Local Government Development Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir needs to be intensified to ensure that the target of up to 70% of premises in 17 PPR participating in the programme is achieved by 2025.
He said the target was one of the five goals outlined by SWCorp through the ‘Sifar Sisa Bersamamu Madani’ PPR community initiative. Akmal Nasrullah added that the initiative aims for a recycling rate of 40% by 2025 and the digitalisation of recycling in line with the rapid development of information technology. - Bernama
