THE winner of the recent Miss Asia Pageant Malaysia 2023 will retain her crown after pageant organisers claimed there was not enough evidence to conclude that she was a “bully” after her accusers declined to step forward and provide proof, reported Sin Chew Daily.
KUALA LUMPUR: The second reading of the Smoking Product Control Bill for Public Health Bill 2023 in the Dewan Rakyat is still on track, says a Health Ministry official.
Although the Health Ministry had yet to get a date from Parliament, the officer said the ministry was still set to table the bill within the current meeting of the Dewan Rakyat, which started on Oct 9 and would end on Nov 30. Last Thursday , Health Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa announced that the Bill would be tabled in Dewan Rakyat on Tuesday after it was given the nod from the Cabinet. It has since been postponed.
The bill was tabled for its first reading in June this year before being sent to the Parliamentary Special Select Committee for further review.The original bill, known as the Control of Tobacco Product and Smoking Bill 2022, was first tabled by Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin last year.Former Sabah CM Shafie denies involvement in land deal controversy
